A touch of frost

There's been a nice bit of snow recently, so here are some snaps taken on the common.

Paparazzi

I went down to tower bridge to take some photos of a bendy bus turned into a giant transformer robot. Alas the bus was not there anymore, but I did stumble across a free Alexandra Burke concert, and what an intimate affair it was, and free choclates were thrown in to boot! Alexandra is the winnner of last years X Factor.

Croatian Pirates

After Makarska, our final port of call was Omes. Omes is famous in the area as being a pirate base a few centuries back. It was good for the pirates as the mountains provided hiding spots and lookouts, and the river was great escape up in their boats.
So naturally, we had to have a farewell pirate party!

And where better to have a pirate party than on our pirate boat!

A bit of limbo - it turned out I was quite good at it, and was the undisputed champion!

A really gorgeous pirate wench - who could resist such beauty?

Croatia is supposed to be the birthplace of Dalmations. I didn't see any, but did see lots of cute kitties! Here are some for your enjoyment.

Croatia - Makarska

After Korcula, it was off to Makarska, a fairly busy town in a small bay, with intersting bars set in caves in the rocks.

Croatia - Korcula

Well, its time for a break from the Moroccan photos, and continue on with the Croatian ones. As you recall, I was last in Dubrovnik. After that it was off to Korcula, birthplace of Marco Polo.

En route we stopped here for a swim. As you entered the water from the beach, the ground was covered with small rocks, and among the rocks were plenty of sea urchins. The locals have thus cleared a thin path going out to sea so you don't get spiked by the urchins. You can see here everyone heading out in the safe line - except one chap who did venture to the side and got spikes in his foot!

Approaching Korcula

Korcula has a briliant bar at the top of the building below. You have to climb up a stepladder through a trapdoor in the roof, ands the drinks get hauled up by a pulley.

Sunset from the bar.

At the bar I met my friends from the hostel in Split and the oppostion boats. They had a rule that annyone who says the word "mine" has to do 10 pushups or sits up. Carzy buffoons! Its particularly amusing when the waiter brings a drink and asks whos is this!
Here we see Dena in action!

The twins do some sit ups - dang, why wasn't I on that boat!

View over the city

A-hem, the local church has some fairly dodgy looking statues!
