Brighton

I went to visit my dear old friend, Angela, in Brighton 2 weeks back.

I was forced to miss my bus, as I didn't know that the underground only opens at 7AM on a sunday, the swines, so I had to hang around outside Southfields station for an hour.

There were 2 chavs there, and I had never felt so nervous of being attacked before, as they were all in my face, so I decided to go and loiter around the corner out of sight until the station opened.
For those who don't know, a chav is a local yobbo, standing for Council Housed And Violent!

I then had to pay top dollar for a new bus ticket - bastards!

Angela is moving to work in Kenya for 3 months, so it was good to get a chance to say good-bye, and to walk on the beach. Despite the fact that the beach is stony, it was really nice, as some of the stones are pretty interesting - I found a small fossil stone, but somehow threw it away by mistake - what a nincompoop!

We found a delightful coffee shop, boasting 30 flavours of hot chocolate, and 18 flavours of ice-tea. The 30 hot choc flavours were: "Standard, and Dark Chocolate", while the 18 flavours of ice tea were "sorry, all out today!"
Most impressive bit of false advertising!

Me on Brighton Pier.
Angela buzy freezing to death.
The funny thing about the beach here in winter, is that the sun rises and sets on the same side, as it just does a small arc, so you can have sunuppers and sundowners!

The new Brighton Pier, complete with funfair.
The old Brighton Pier, complete with nothing!

The Brighton Royal Pavilion makes you feel you are in the middle east!

ah, bummer about the bus! Bastards! Glad you didn't get mugged. Great that you got to see Angela - lucky thing, i'd love to work in Kenya. Thanks for the photos - reminds me of our trip to Brighton.

Under the pier - fantastic, nicely observed.
