Zapokane - mountain scenery

After Auschitz we headed to Zakopane, which is a lovely town in the mountains, and is a ski resort in the winter.
The churches in the area are really gorgeous, but I never got any photos of them, as was driving past all the time.
Aga, our friendly Polish guide that I met on my last ski trip took us for a hike in the nature reserve to see the mountain lakes.

There are always horse carts heading up for a large portion if the walk, for the lazily inclined.

This was perhaps the clearest water I have seen in my life. If it wasn't for the reflection, you would never know this whole photo is underwater!

The first of the 2 lakes - really gorgeous, and nice to see a bit of snow in the June still!

 The 2nd lake

The snow reflected in the water reminded me of one of my favourite artists from way back, Bev Doolittle - below is a similar reflection, except our lake formed some kind of weird panda skull reflection, not an eagle

That scenery on the hike is so amazing. We could do with some more snow here in Australia!!
