In Bruges

We spent a lovely 2 days in Bruges, and it really is a delighful city to stroll around in, with all its canals and lovely old buildings, and is generally not too crowded.
Being in the Flemish part of Belgium, one of the advantages was to be able to vouchsafe "Godverdomme" willy nilly when required, as well as sample some bitte balle while quaffing down yet more beers, and buy some delicious boerenkaas for breakfast at the local shop.

The view from our window - lovely!

 The central square - fantastic!

Hmm, this was not planned, I have no idea why the tower looks like it is leaning so.

Loved this area!! Wonderful bit of architecture here, and the vines along the bottom gave it a bit of a Tuscan feel for me.

 Old meets new

I think this chap used to be the major of Bruges - he looks pretty proud of his job!

 Brilliant colour co-ordination!

Hi Russell. I love the quote on the wall in your Belgium album. What inspiring words - needed to be reminded...
