Stellenbosch

We went away for a weekend in Stellenbosch with the Hurd herd, and a great time was had by all!

Here, Warren and I imitate Japanese schooolgirl tourists.

Mom and Kayleigh chill by the pool - yes it's off on the side somewhere.
Alas as I was not in a big photo mood that weekend, it seems I don't have much in the way of pics, but I do have the below pics from the strawberry picking with Corrine and Dana.

What a ridiculous looking bunch of scarecrows!

Just before we were about to go pick those berries, the rain started pelting down, so we had to take shelter and pose for silly photos while we waited for the rain to stop.

A cool geocache - the logbook is in one of the small cannisters, so you have to keep opening them until you find it :)

Not in Stellenbosch, but I forgot to add this great pic of mom and I, so here it is!

Tokara Sculptures

I went twice to Tokara wine estate, once with Dad and once with Corrine.
They have a great sculpture path to walk among the vines and enjoy the art.

A lot of the works were interactive - you could move bits around which would set them off rocking in intersting ways, such as above and below.

 Help, I'm trapped!

Is it an ism, or is art? Or maybe just a cup of coffee?

Franschoek

Dad, Kobus, Noor and I went to Franschoek for lunch for Kobus's and Noor's birthdays, and a lovely day out it was!

First we stopped off at a wine estate near Stellenbosch to try the olive oils. Corrine and Dana and I happened to stop off at the same estate the next weekend, where we had more time to take photos of the sculptures, so I will put those in a separate post.

 Cheers everybody!

Sorry dad, there's none left, you can stop now!

 My new favourite friend!

Hout Bay and surrounds

Just a couple of photos of various walks in and around Hout Bay.

Heading up the back table with CapeDoc

 Overlooking Orange Kloof

CapeDoc wanted to take me up Table Mountain to show me 2 caves, one which was called Bat Cave, and full of funky bats and fools gold - really cool!

This sand dune, called Frankenstein, is taking over this poor bus stop on Hout Bay beach road.
