Lake District - Ullswater

On the firsst day we took a walk around Ullswater and up the mountain with lovely views of the lake. There was a thunderstorm predicted, but we thought we would try risk it and get back to the cars before the storm.

 

The skies are looking a bit ominous here. Shortly after this photo, the rain started coming down like mad, and we tried to run down the mountain to seek shelter, but alas, there was not much when we got to the bottom, so it was a long walk in the rain to get back. It was here that we discovered that everyones waterproof clothing was generally pretty rubbish, so everyone was soaked!!
