Skiing 1

Woo Hoo after exploring the mountains it was time for some skiing lessons.
I really loved the set up of the package. Everything was done for you. 3 Delicious buffet meals a day, entertainment in the evenings with quizzes, shows put on by the staff, Poker tournaments etc. We won the music quiz and I came third in the poker tourney. Oh Yeah!

We had ski lessons all day for 5 days and 1 off day to go skiing by ourselves, so the trip was just skiing skiing skiing!

Our intrepid guide Sylvain.

All set for action! One of the hardest thing abiut skiing is standing around in those ski boots. You can't really stand up straight as the boots push you slightly forward so you got to bend your knees a bit constantly, and the blisters go down a treat!

Starting off on the easy slopes.

Its amazing how those darn kids can ski so brilliantly. Not so good for the ego!

The main man Philippe.

One of the artificial snow makers. Looks pretty cool with the sun setting behind it.
Agata from Poland. Agata went off skiing with my rooom-mate on the first day, as they were both pretty good, so were going to do some hectic off piste skiing. As it turns out, they weren't as good as they thought, and ended up lost in the dark at 7PM! They were just getting ready to dig into the snow to spend the night there on the mountain, when they saved by a guide going down who had a light - very handy things those!
Apparently they were pretty close to going off the edge of the glacier - ouch!!

Andrea, Fiona and I.

Trying a bit of super fluffy skiing.Really fun but really different from skiing on compacted snow. Normal skiing you have to lean forward or you're buggered, but on this you have to lean back or you're buggered. Great to fall down in though :o)

Sylvain demonstrates his donald duck feet.

Lets get ready to rumble!

Oops-la, Philippe struggles to get up. By the end of the week though, Philippe was a shining star and was skiing like a champion!
