The Royal Family of Strange People

A while back I went to see the show, "The Royal Family of Strange People", which was great!
A word of warning, look away if you are squeamish!


Naturally, I did not take photos during the show, so I am adding these photos I have found on the net.

This was an old fashioned style carnival freak show, with the acts rotating on different days. Sadly we did not get to see the below chap, Gary Stretch, the man with the worlds stretchiest skin, but I thought I'd put some pics of him, as he is pretty weird!

 This is the Lizard Man. Has implants in his forehead to make those skull protrusions, had his teeth filed down and tongue split. Despite his weird looks, he was a very nice chap - seemed pretty normal, with a great sense of humour.
He can do all sorts of tricks with his tongue, rating the 2 halves in different directions etc - claims the ladies love it - although watch out for those teeth!

 Here we saw his shove this corkscrew shaped wire through his nose, and out of his mouth - what a special skill! We also saw him shove a fork all the way up his nose, a very useful talent to have.

This is the Baron from Finland, famous for his nipples of steel.

 Here we saw him lifting some weights with hooks through his nipples - look how much they stretch down! He also did the same thing with a hook through his nose - amazing how stretchy a nose is with weights pulling it down!

 This is the Space Cowboy from Australia - although the above trick was done by the Baron at our show, but I could not get picks of him doing it. He put 2 hooks under his eyelids, and then lifted weights - not a pretty sight!

 The Space Cowboy is well known for his sword swallowing, and holds about 12 world records. It was very impressive to see him swallow a sword without using his hands, just using his throat muscles to control the sword as it does down - made me come over all queasy!
You can see he has 3 magnets implanted in his chest - he says this is to keep the sword in place and keep it away from his heart.

 We didn't see this trick, but what he did do was to swallow one of those long thin balloons that clowns use to make animals from. He then swallowed a sword, and held a microphone to his neck, and we could hear the balloon pop inside him. Then he swallowed a pair of braai tongs, and removed the popped balloon with them - good trick for the braai!

 

This girl was OK, did some walking on swords and such, nothing to freaky, but the angle grinder to the metal underwear created some good sparks.

We also saw Electro and Nurse Volta. I could not find any photos of them, but they did weird things like standing on an electric generator, and using sparks jumping from her nipples to ignite petrol soaked cloths. Then Electro hauled out a gigantic telsa coil like device, which created huge lighting bolts which shot between the coils - very spectacular!

He then shoved a metal rod up his butt, and used that to conduct the lightning bolt through his body to charge a light bulb on his head - if only we could all do that!

All in all, a great show, do check them out if they come to your area.
