Ice Carving at Canary Wharf
Yesterday we went to an ice carving competition at Canary Wharf, with 12 countries taking part.
It was a bit crowded, and the teams were still busy carving the statues, so I couldn't get too many photos, but we went back at night when they were closing down, and got some nice night pics.
The area around canary wharf has some great cityscapes and sculptures - I have always meant to do a photo series here, but never got round to it!

When this was being carved in the day, I thought it was Hercules wrestling a snake - with it finished and easy to see, I don't know what it is anymore!

This was the winning entry, done by team Togo! Where do they get to carve ice in Togo - it had a little dog and swan on the sides as well.

Some very impressive sculptures!!! To think they're all going to melt away. Ah, the impermanence of it all. A spiritual lesson there somewhere.
