Gruyere

On the last day in Switzerland, Barry took us to Gruyere, which was a lovely outing, lots of interesting things to do, although we passed on the cheese factory, as we were full up to the gills with cheese!

 Cool dudes!

 Gruyere castle

The area around Gruyere is delightful, with your typical green rolling Swiss hills

 Inside the castle

There was an art show in the castle - this one makes my eyes go funny, not sure if thats due to the artwork, or if my photo is out of focus!

 Great stained glass window.

I think this was the covering of a chair or bed.

Gruyere's mascot

 Yum, bacon Rosti!

After the castle area, we went on a chocolate factory tour. It was really well done, with the system taking us on an automated tour of the history of chocolate, starting with the Aztecs above.

 Chocolate beans - surprisingly tasty

After the tour there was a chocolate tasting, and we certainly pigged out!

We were lucky with the weather all holiday, and so Switzerland shed a few tears onto Barry's sunroof as we were leaving, to say goodbye.
