Geocaching in Prague

Dad and Kobus liked a bit of a nap in the afternoons after a hard morning's exploring and beer drinking, so I would go out goecaching in the afternoons. Here are some random photos from caching around Prague.

I think this guy needs to explanation.

Fun game! Match the key to the lock!

The John Lennon wall. Not really sure why, but apparently it became pretty popular in the 80s to fill this wall with Lennon images and peace graffiti etc.

On an island in the Vltava, there was a free concert going on. This band was a local "rock chick" band, and they belted out AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Joan Jett, and some local heavy metal, in a very impressive manner. Excellent!

 Super cool fountain!

After Vsehrad, I walked up the main hill in Prague, which was tough going in the heat.  Found this area full of weird carving in the rocks, including Mickey Mouse below.

On top of the hill was a lovely rose garden. I had fond memories of this when I was here with Steve in 94, but back then, we were the only people up there, now it is jam packed with tourists!

The mini-eiffel tower on top of the hill. After the long slog up the hill, I was not super keen to slog up the tower in the heat, so instead searched for a nearby geocache which promised great views of the city.  Because despite being on top of the hill, there were no views in site, with trees blocking all views of the city below.

And I was well rewarded searching for the geocache with a view. It led me a bit down through the forest, to a secluded orchard, with stunning views of the city, a locel spot in the shade to relax, and some cherries to pick - 3 cheers for geocaching for saving the day!

Check how crowded Charles Bridge is!

A final geocache down below. Can you spot the cache? Yep, its the lantern just hanging around on the wall. Excellent!
