Back in Germany and Basel

In August I decided to go back to visit Lorenzo and Guendolina for a weekend in Basel for two reasons.
To swim in the Rhine through Basel, at it looked awesome fun, and to go and do the hike I missed out on in the Black Forest, Wutashlught.

The highlight was definately swimming in the Rhine. It goes at such a speedy pace, and the strong current just drags you along while you dodge ferries and bridges. Its really popular and there are so many people swimming down the river, it has a great atmosphere. walking back through town along the banks of the river has more of a beach feel than a city feel.

Alas, I did not take any photos, so most of the photos are from the hike, which was good, but not as exciting as I had thought.

Trying to find a geocache gidden behind the waterfall. Turns out our German was not so great though, the clue said it was opposite the waterfall!

There were some really spectacular butterflies in the gorge.

Strangely enough, I wimped out and did not walk all the way across this log - must be getting old!

We stayed a night in Titisee, as I really enjoyed it there, very peaceful. As you can see, the skies were much better this trip!

Back in Basel, and we went out for dinner at some funky post - apocalyptic waterfront area. Very ho and trendy!
