Talalla retreat

Next it was on to Talalla Retreat for some more beaching. This is a lovely resort about 2 hours East of Anawatuna, that had been recommended to us for some hard core relaxing, and we weren't disappointed - its really lovely, with the cabins centered around a stunning pool in a lush garden, filled with fireflies, iguanas, monkeys, hammocks, and huge bats flying over at dusk.

The cabins themselves were open to nature, so chipmunk type dudes could hang out on our walls. There was a delicious restaurant (with Backgammon :o), and a almost private , very long, golden beach.

 Our own beach!

 Some over friendly fisherman types

Just near by is one of the best spots in the world to go see Blue Whales, and I was super pleased to stumble on these fossilised whale bones on the beach. To my right is part of what looks like a leg bone, but whales don't have legs! - Dinosaur maybe?
And to the left of the rock on my left is a vertebra.

Close up of the vertebra - this thing was so  big and heavy, I could not move it at all!

Boet decided to display all our cash, (UK, Ozzie, Thai and Sri Lanka) as there were some nice colours going on!
